Fit Guide: Relaxed Single Pleat Trouser

The idea for our new relaxed cotton trouser began at the start of 2024, taking inspiration directly from the streets of Florence. We were looking for a silhouette that bridged a gap in our existing lineup, striking a finer balance between our tailored cotton trousers from previous seasons and a new design that would work as well with tailoring as with a simple t-shirt.

To refine the shape, we spent time researching and referencing garments from the past that mastered the volume and style that made the pleated cotton trouser a menswear staple. Building from these foundations, we implemented some of our favourite details to finalise the design.

We worked closely with our producers to develop the fit and finish, treating the process as an evolution of our tailored cotton trouser from years past whilst retaining our design language. The result is a high-rise cut designed to be worn on the waist, featuring single reverse pleats and a wider fit through the leg for comfort and a clean drape.

For the fabric, we used two variations of Brisbane Moss cotton. A heavier drill for the cooler months and mid-weight brushed canvas that works year-round. Both cloths feel substantial yet soft, and are designed to wear-in well. An easy-to-wear garment that's simple to maintain, durable and versatile. We've also included a beautiful walnut corduroy option with a matching sport jacket that can be worn as a casual suit.

Finished with genuine horn buttons, top-stitched side seams, and rear double welt pockets with button loops, the trousers are practical yet refined. As is customary with our garments, we leave the hems unfinished to be them tailored to your preferred length. We recommend opting for little to no break, finished with or without a turn-up.

As its name suggests, the trouser is designed to be worn to a more relaxed fit with a well-fitting waist which can be aided by the use of a belt. There should be ample room through the thigh and lower leg and drape nicely to a finish on the shoe. We recommend taking your normal Natalino waist size or simply measure around the mid section, just beneath the naval to find your best fit. The waist and leg can be tailored, with 2.5cm to be let out at the waist and 1.5cm through the leg if necessary.
