STAFF PICKS

S/S 26 - Staff Picks #2

As temperatures begin to rise, tailoring calls for a different approach - lighter fabrics, softer textures and a more relaxed colour palette.

We caught up with some of the team to talk about the suits they have been wearing recently and how they like to style them during the warmer months.

Whether paired with a shirt and tie or worn more informally with knitwear and tees, each look reflects a personal take on summer dressing.

RUBEN'S PICKS

Recently added to his wardrobe, the herringbone wool suit in mushroom has quickly earned its place in Ruben’s regular rotation.

“I tend to switch my outfits around quite often, but this herringbone suit has quietly become one of my go-tos lately,” Ruben says, “there’s something about the subtle texture that really appeals to me, it adds a lot of character to the cloth without being too obvious, which makes it easy to wear.”

“I usually wear this suit with a linen shirt as it’s light and breathable and it has a relaxed feel that works really well with the colour and texture of this suit.”

Here, Ruben wears our white linen spread collar shirt and a navy rep tie with subtle stripes, a combination that feels effortless and appropriate for the season while letting the rich textures of the cloth do the talking.

PABLO'S PICKS

“I chose the tropical wool suit in sand because it filled a gap in my wardrobe,” Pablo says. “I didn’t have anything in this colour and it felt like a versatile shade that would work well with a lot of what I already own.”

“Tropical wool is one of my favourite cloths for summer tailoring – it’s breathable, comfortable to wear throughout the day, and it holds its shape really well without creasing as much as other fabrics. It’s the kind of suit I can put on in the morning and not have to worry about.”

Pablo has paired the suit with our white sport tee and a dusty blue cotton jumper draped over his shoulders that helps to provide a pop of colour and a more laid-back, playful feel.

TANAKA'S PICKS

“I’ve always liked the look of a chalk stripe suit, but I’m more used to seeing it in flannels and heavier winter fabrics,” Tanaka says. “Seeing it in tropical wool gives it a completely different vibe – it’s lighter-weight of course but the stripes retain that slightly fuzzy look which is impressive given there’s no natural nap in this fabric like there is with flannel.”

“What I like most about this suit is how versatile it is – I can wear it with a shirt and tie when I want to look smart or swap them out for a tee and it takes on a much more relaxed character that is kind of unexpected. It’s the type of suit that easily adapts to the occasion rather than feeling limited to one way of dressing.”

Here Tanaka keeps it formal with a spread collar shirt in white cotton linen, navy rep tie and our Belgian loafers in dark brown suede. The combination is a classic yet it’s one that is made appropriate for summer through the use of lighter-weight cloth choice.
